Out for an afternoon stroll waiting to cross the street, these two caught my eye. Unfortunately I didnt have enough time to set the camera’s aperture, exposure or even focus properly. I wanted a panning effect.

this is my first post, hopefully I did it okay.

Very cool Gabriel, your point of focus characterizes this shot. Instead of using a longer exposure time to create the impression of the moving bikes the distant focal point takes care of that. By the way, you’re the first to post a photo with an entirely different aspect size, I like it!

I agree with fokke about the focus! The focus on the street makes me believe the two bikers are heading the wrong way! The yellow biker gets my attention, so good job.

I guess I would have liked a slower speed so the colors looked more realistic, a disadvantage with color film.
Thanks Ruud

Think about timing the next time you take a shot such as this. The utility pole lines up directly behind the yellow biker making for an awkward composition. I know you didn’t have a lot of time and all, but I am just saying. If you had captured the biker either slightly earlier in the street or slightly later between the utility poles, it would have been a better shot. The cropped woman works perfectly though. But I love the yellow, it makes/balances the photo and complements the predominantly blue image very nicely.
