Girl eating bagel

2010 © by Chris

I was intrigued by this girl as I was walking down the street and instantly knew I had to capture her photo. Her and her friend were outside on this perfect day eating and talking. I briefly interrupted them to ask to take a few photos of them. They thought I was sort of crazy and were laughing a bit, it was quite funny. But it also made it easier for both of them and it relaxed the girl eating a lot. I didn’t realize it until I stopped and started to really look at this girl, but she has a very unique, interesting, special look about her. After which, I thought of it as more of a portrait than anything, tying in nicely with the ‘portrait’ theme.

The text with this shot gives me a little more explanation why you posted this shot.
When i look at this post i do not have the feeling of a very unique, interesting, special look about her. The composition is a little tight. Next time I think you can focus more on composition. Ofcourse you are right, this is a portrait and in your way you must have a lot of fun shooting!

What I like about this post is how the photo and the story go together. I find it extremely interesting to find out what the story is behind a photo, which does add a lot of value to a post in my opinion. Great to hear that you just walked up to those people and asked them if you could take their photo. However some may think different, I think that it takes some confidence to do it!

I agree with Fokke, most of the time I do not have the guts to ask people, than I just take a shot or walk by! In that way I like this concept!
